Join a Story – Safety Standards

Join a Story is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and family-friendly environment for all users. We operate a zero-tolerance policy towards harmful or illegal content, including child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE).

Zero Tolerance Policy

We strictly prohibit:

Any content involving child sexual abuse or exploitation

Sexual or explicit content involving minors

Grooming, solicitation, or inappropriate interaction involving minors

Any illegal, abusive, hateful, or harmful content

Any such content will result in immediate action, including removal and permanent account termination.

User-Generated Content

Join a Story allows users to contribute messages to shared “bottles”.

To protect users:

Personal information (e.g. phone numbers, addresses, contact details) is not permitted

External links and promotional content are not allowed

Content must remain appropriate for a general audience

All content is subject to moderation.

Reporting & Moderation

Users can report any message or bottle directly within the app.

When content is reported:

It may be restricted or removed from public view pending review

Reports are reviewed as quickly as possible

Appropriate action is taken based on severity

Actions may include:

Content removal

User warnings

Account suspension

Permanent account termination

We reserve the right to act immediately in serious cases.

Enforcement

We operate a strike-based system for policy violations.

Repeated breaches may result in permanent removal from the Service

Severe violations may result in immediate account termination without warning

Cooperation with Authorities

Where required, we will cooperate with law enforcement and relevant authorities in relation to illegal content, including CSAE.

Safety by Design

We have built Join a Story to reduce risk:

No direct user-to-user messaging

No private communication channels

Location data is approximate and never shared precisely

Content is moderated and reportable
